Laris Latee is exceptionally good at uncovering the secrets of the galaxy. Ka-neetian scientists have been cataloging Discoveries for quite some time from their planet surface and recognize their true nature.

In game terms this is reflected by her ability to draw 2 Discovery tiles and choose which one to place for each Discovery revealed by exploring a new galaxy tile. Discoveries also have their required target numbers reduced by 1 for her with the ship's Class 3 Astrolab. In addition to these significant bonuses to Discoveries, many of her Captain Powers and her Open Space card revolve around manipulating Discoveries, either for her, or her opponents.
