Mycelia: North American Expansion (2026)

This expansion for Mycelia brings in new game mechanics to elevate the strategic depth of the original game as well as the option for a fifth player and 35 new mushroom cards depicting fungi endemic to North America.

Inspired by the symbiotic relationship between trees and fungi in nature, the new mechanics incorporate saplings and “Grandfather” Trees. As part of your SPORE action you can choose to invest one of your spores into a sapling and in return you are given a chance for a symbiosis bonus. Once three spores have been invested into a sapling it is eligible to ‘AGE’ (a new action added in this expansion) into a Grandfather tree. These can be used tactically to syphon spores into new locations and are also worth 5 points each.
