Grimdark Future: The Voidsun Threat (2022)

The Frog-Mages have long presided over the Loppian System, guided by their gift of Prophecy. Their wisdom allowed for the psychic storms which once tore across the system to be tamed and even harnessed. In time, they would come to set this power aside, scattering it throughout the system to prevent its power from being misused. Yet, it has not been buried forever. Deep within the unrelenting storms of Tlatec, a world deemed cursed by the Frog-Mages themselves—lies the secret to unlocking the long hidden power of the Voidsun.

Tehaxi, a Gecko Starseer driven by vengeance, leads a rebellion against the established Frog-Mages. But he does not work unopposed; Ruyi Nonga, a Jackal Vulture, has offered her services to the Frog-Mages, bringing with her a band of Jackal scavengers eager for adventure and salvage. They will set out in the search for the Voidcrown, the artifact said act as the key to control the system’s artificial sun.

The battle is soon joined by others. Poisonzeal, a self-proclaimed healer, emerges from hiding, claiming that the crown must never be reunited. Meanwhile, the High Elven Ancient Commander Trasara Loncrinius has been driven into the system by desperation, seeking to repair her damaged fleet but she is soon pulled into the conflict by those who seek to use her as a pawn.

Tehaxi is determined to claim the power of the Voidsun for himself, even as the destruction caused by his rebellion tears through the system. It is only a matter of time before the pieces are discovered and each of the factions must choose a side; will they fight against the threat of the Voidsun or embrace its promise of power.

Alliances will be tested and betrayals will cut deep.

The Voidsun Threat is a remaster of our Maximum Threat Mission Pack for Grimdark Future, our FREE Sci-Fi Miniature Game. It includes a full narrative story in which to play the 18 missions included in the pack as well as rules for different ways to run the campaign!

The book explores the story and characters over an art-filled, 15-page section, and includes the 18 missions, which were all reworked and adapted to the narrative, so you can replay the battles that encapsulated The Voidsun Threat.

Note that whilst the missions are designed for Grimdark Future, you can play them with the rules for any of our other games (with slight adjustments). This means that you have even more missions to play if you buy multiple packs!
