Overview

War in the Pacific is a board game set in the armed conflict that took place from 1879 to 1883 in which Peru and Bolivia fought against Chile, for 2, 3 or 4 players of ages 8 and older. There are two sides for which you can play: the alliance of Peru and Bolivia or Chile .

The goal is to achieve 10 victory points or take one of the enemy capital cities, the first side to achieve one of these two goals is proclaimed the winner.

The game has several dynamics: first is war strategy with movement of troops and historic ships of the conflict, second is political-diplomatic strategy to gain advantages in combat or other fields, and the third is a heroic dimension with different historical characters to chose from who modify the game mechanics, like Grau, Prat, Avaroa, Bolognesi, Baquedano, Pinto, among others.

The aim of the game is to contemplate this war from two centuries ago from a different perspective, with serenity and a playful-educational spirit. It's time to watch episodes of our history with the distance and reflection granted by time, without national animosities and at a table where friendship reigns.
