Overview
In the spring of 1940, the Wehrmacht moved through the Ardennes to take the Allies by surprise and encircle them. Petain said: “If the Germans pass through the Ardennes, we’ll shoot them like rabbits”. No such luck – the hunters were at the other end of Belgium and were caught in a trap. In December 1944, the Wehrmacht tries the same trick again – but this time in the snow without air superiority or enough fuel… The surprise will certainly shock the Allies, but the white rabbits are going to suffer a serious counter-attack!
