Overview
Zola is a two-player game played on a 6x6 (or 8x8...) checkerboard initially filled with a checkered pattern of red and blue checkers.
The two players, Red and Blue, take turns moving their own checkers, one checker per turn, starting with Red. Passing is not allowed, but, if you have no legal moves available, your turn is skipped.
To win you must capture all enemy checkers. Draws cannot occur in Zola.
Move typesOn your turn you have two options:
Noncapturing move: Step kingwise away from the center of the line you step along. Capturing move: Capture queenwise an enemy not farther away from the center of the line you are moving along.
