Overview

The King in the North is a game that represents the first Civil War called the Carlist War that took place between 1833 and 1839, among the Carlists - supporters of the Infant Carlos María Isidro de Borbón and an absolutist regime - and the so called Liberals, Cristinos or Isabelinos, defenders of Isabel II and the regent María Cristina de Borbón, whose government was in the modest absolutist origins and eventually became liberal to obtain greater popular support.

Although the war spanned most of Spain, mainly in the Basque Country, Navarra, Catalonia, Aragon and Valencia, in this game only the fighting in the North is represented. It has gameplay mechanisms similar to Sekigahara and Granada, last stand of the Moors.
