Overview

LetterTricks is a collection of trick-taking card games.

The deck consists of 52 cards, but instead of having numbers like most decks, each suit contains letters of the English alphabet. There are three suits, each having all vowels, most common consonants, and two of the rarest consonants.

LetterTricks Cooperative is a 4-5 player cooperative game in which players work together to form a word with each trick. Players must follow suit if they can, and they earn a point for each trick in which a word can be formed by the letters at the end. The highest card of suit led leads the next trick (with Z being the highest letter, and A being the lowest). Perfect scores are possible, but rare.

LetterTricks Competitive is a 3-5 player competitive trick taking game in which winning tricks earns letters from the trick; depending on the player count there are other ways to earn letters as well. At the end of a round, players take the letters they've received from the tricks and use them to form words.

A team version of the game is also included in Version 2.0 of the game.
