Overview

Micro Cosmos: New Worlds and Old Authorities is an expansion to Micro Cosmos. The box holds 2 modules that can be added to the base game as well as a unique solo campaign mode.

NEW WORLDS

The NEW WORLDS module introduces a new end game trigger and plays around with the scouting action and survivor cards more. You no longer have to wait for a planet of a proper type to be terraformed in order to settle a survivor on it. Your survivors can be sent to the titular New Worlds in order to gain points and benefits.

OLD AUTHORITIES

The OLD AUTHORITIES module introduces much more indirect interaction between players with the introduction of 3 Councils that players fight over. Whoever works hardest to appease a Council, receives a special ability they can use every turn. This module greatly encourages early terraforming which influences the gameplay in interesting ways.

The NEW WORLD and OLD AUTHORITIES modules can be added separately to the base game or played together for deeper gameplay.

SOLO CAMPAIGN Dive into a multi chapter adventure and mark your progress in a dedicated campaign notepad. Each game of the campaign introduces some new twist, new challenge and with that new ways of going through the game.

You start your journey as a captain of a worn down ark and with each scenario you unlock upgrades and eventually new ships. A special card system determines the length of a scenario. The time it takes to complete is varied as are the tasks presented to you. Each completed task is worth experience points which allow you to perform upgrades on your ark. Each game session influences the campaign and shape of the galaxy. Your progress and game status is easily saved in a dedicated booklet which lets you come back and continue playing anytime you want.
