Card GameAuction / BiddingHidden Roles

Overview

When you get right down to it, Bram Stoker's novel Dracula is about a vampire investing in real estate. The more houses he buys, the easier it'll be for him to hide from those pesky vampire hunters...which I suppose makes Count Dracula slightly less of a parasite than a landlord.

In the auction game Watch Out! That's a Dracula!, one player takes on the role of Dracula, who wants to win more houses than any other player and isn't picky about what those houses look like. They're opposed by the vampire hunters, who want to prevent Dracula from winning, while angling for the highest score themselves. Some houses are worth more than others, and, crucially, some features are worth bonus points for specific vampire hunters.

The tricky part? You know only your own identity. You don't know which of the other players is which vampire hunter and, even more distressingly, you're not sure which one of them is the villainous vampire. Your only clues are which houses they're eager to win — and if that's not difficult enough, you might even have to contend with a Frankenstein or a Woof Man!

Watch Out! That's a Dracula! is the 2022 Hollandays Sale freebie game — a whimsical and spoopy charmer that combines the sharp tension of auctions with the thrills of hidden-role deduction games.
