Can you claim the throne by virtue and cunning?

In the dead of night a proclamation echoes through the silent halls: His Majesty is no more. With no heir named and the kingdom in disarray, the Five Realms await a new sovereign - one who can prove true worth through influence and daring deeds. As one of the King’s heirs, you step into the court’s tumult, seeking favor with noble clans and outmaneuvering rival inheritors to earn the crown.

In Inheritors, a 2–4 player open-drafting and hand-management card game, you take on the role of one of the late king’s heirs, competing to prove your worth to the Five Realms. Each turn, you navigate an open market, deciding whether to play cards into your tableau, discard to draw, or take stacks to strengthen your hand. Success depends on building powerful color sequences, claiming clan abilities, completing quests, and racing to seize honors before your rivals.

Your goal? Accumulate the most prestige by the game’s end. Score comes from:

The strength of your tableau (cards played in ascending order),

Honors achieved by hitting specific milestones,

And Quests completed via clever card use.

As the draw deck winds down or the last honors and quests are claimed, the court will pass judgment ... and only one may sit upon the throne.
