Overview

Napoleon's Later Campaigns is a retrofit rules system designed to increase the historical accuracy of the wargames in the related "Napoleon's Last Battles" (NLB) / "Napoleon at Leipzig" (NAL) / "Library of Napoleonic Battles" (TLNB) family of 1-hour turn, brigade-level, grand tactical Napoleonic study wargames. It is designed to replace the rules of any game in that system, and where necessary, specific retrofit rules (e.g. for special scenario rules) are provided for most games in the series.

The rules are intended to form a new family of games, "backward compatible" with these games, and that is "fast, low to moderate complexity ... combining a grand tactical perspective ... with a focus on a historically sound use of units."

Chitpulls and order rules also facilitate solo play. The order system encourages players, like their historical counterparts, to come up with a plan, from then on the orders will guide and tell you what to do each turn. You just have to make the tactical decisions.

The games that have been explicitly refitted for the system include (showing publisher): Napoleon's Last Battles (SPI/TSR/DG) Napoleon at Leipzig (OSG/COA) The Battle for Dresden 1813 (NES) Napoleon on the Danube: The Battle of Deutsch-Wagram (NES) Clash of the Eagles: Borodino & Friedland (S&T) Four Lost Battles (OSG) Wellington Vs Massena (3W) Napoleon and the Archduke Charles: The Battle of Abensberg (3W) Napoleon and the Archduke Charles: The Battle of Eckmuhl (3W) Caldiero 1796 (Web-published/No Turkeys) La Patrie en Danger 1814: The Campaign in France, Part I (OSG)

Other TLNB games were not refitted, their individual exclusive rules have to be taken from their respective rulebooks.
