Overview

The ice floes are melting – it is time to load your longships – but where will you sail to in search of glory and treasure? Other Viking lords summon their warriors also, and only the strongest will win in those distant lands that tremble when they hear the words “the Northmen are coming”.

Sær is a concealed bidding game lasting 20-30 minutes, playable by 2-4 players. Players initially commit concealed bids for mastery of the lands raided by the Vikings. These bids may be added to, but only at the cost of revealing what has already been committed to be bid. There is thus a trade-off between the power of each bid, and its secrecy. A completely secret bid risks being outbid by one where the opponent is more open about their intentions. Resources are scarce - so players must also balance the gains (and special powers) which they can gain in the early rounds with the need to conserve a fleet large enough to compete in the final "Ragnarok" round - where even the Norse Gods become involved.

Sær is a game fully in keeping with the La Mame tradition of producing games that are Interactive, Strategic and Short!
