Overview

Hantise (French for "Haunt") is a party-game that brings haunted locations to you. It is played in the dark, with only light coming from the flashlight of your smartphones. It can be played inside or outside (ideally with places where some players can isolate themselves). It is played over seven rounds each divided into three phases. Players take the roles of Mediums except for one, playing the Master of Ceremonies. The MC fully takes part in the game and simply has the added responsibility to make sure the play stays on track.

During the Preparation phase, players are dealt cards that can haunt them. During the Exploration phase, the Mediums try to save the possessed players to gain points by performing missions (described as "dares"). During the Validation phase the points are tallied and the end-game conditions are checked: if the candle tokens are out of the board, the Mediums win. If the MC calls the players and none come because they are all possessed, the game is lost.
