Overview

Bôken aims to faithfully recreate the experience of Japanese RPGs from the 80s and 90s in a board game format. It offers a vast campaign lasting 15 to 30 hours set in the open-world kingdom of Lanoth, featuring exploration, combat, loot, villages, shops, NPCs, quests, dungeons, bosses, and more…

It is a cooperative or solo adventure game for 1 to 2 players who will need to collaborate to defeat the game. It faithfully replicates the mechanics of console JRPGs while also taking into consideration the significance of board game dynamics.

Each player will take on the role of a hero. If you're playing solo, you can either control a single hero or play both heroes, just like in a two-player game.

You will explore the kingdom of Lanoth, its lands, villages, and dungeons while battling hostile creatures along your path. You'll also encounter the inhabitants of Lanoth who will entrust you with quests, and your destiny will unfold as the adventure progresses. The scenario offers many hours of gameplay, requiring several sessions to complete. An instant save system has been designed to allow you to stop, store, and bring out the game within a minute, thanks to magnetized character sheets and a magnetized game board.
