Overview

This map set includes Age of Steam: Pittsburgh Metro & Age of Steam: Denmark, two maps that approach railway development from very different angles.

In Pittsburgh Metro (3-5p), players face a dense, evolving urban landscape where new stations emerge over time, reshaping the board and creating fresh opportunities for clever planning. In Denmark (3-6p), players compete as divisions within the postwar Danish State Railways, struggling to modernize an aging fleet while scarce new trains impose limitations how quickly networks can improve. Denmark is nearly a one-for-one remake of JC's web-published version, with updated artwork and additional components to aid in gameplay.

Each map uses admin areas printed directly on the game board in place of the standard Display Boards, and each replaces the standard Goods Growth phase with its own map-specific demand system. Together, the pair offers two distinct challenges: one shaped by urban expansion, shifting development, and difficult terrain, the other by national modernization and limited train availability.

This set includes two maps, each in two distinct parts, printed double-sided, in full color on 11 × 22.55" (279 × 573 mm) 80# silk poster cover stock, as well as full-color rule sheet(s) in your choice of English, Japanese, and/or German. A punchboard with components for each game is included, along with 14 white cubes used specifically for Pittsburgh Metro.
