One of 6 map sets released by FASA to expand the available terrain for BattleTech, BattleForce and CityTech, and one of three map sets to be released in the FASA 1991 product line.
This paper map set contained the maps "Heavy Forest #1", "Heavy Forest #2", "City Street Grid/Park #1", "City Street Grid/Park #2", "Large Lakes #1", "Large Lakes #2", "River Delta/Drainage Basin #1" and "River Delta/Drainage Basin #2". This Map Set was bundled up with Map Set 2 and Map Set 3 and the three sets re-issued as one item by FanPro, as the Classic Battletech Map Compilation 1.
In Germany, this set was released by FanPro under the name "GeoTech III."
