Overview

This supplement provides army lists for conflicts in both Eastern and Western Europe between 1660 and 1698, the latest date covered by these rules. This is the period following the Thirty Years War and English Civil Wars and includes the famous battles of the Boyne, Sedgemoor and Vienna. Technologically, this era includes improvements in musketry, leading to the transition between the earlier Pike and Shot units to the widespread adoption of the bayonet. The book itself is in the same format as the other Field of Glory supplements i.e. soft cover and containing numerous illustrations from other Osprey books together with photographs of painted miniatures for the armies included. This supplement contains 100 pages. Army Lists include the historical background and a description of the army covered, together with the numbers and types of troops permitted for each, plus a sample "starter" army. Lists for the following armies are included: Later Russian Later Polish And Lithuanian Later Venetian Colonial Later Swedish Later Dutch Later Danish Habsburg Austrian Imperial Later German States Later Spanish Later Restoration Portuguese Savoyard Restoration British Covenanting Rebels Monmouth Rebellion Later Louis Xiv French Hungarian Kuruc Rebellion War Of The League Of Augsburg Anglo-Dutch Jacobite Irish Scots Jacobite Rebellion
