Set in the Pacific Northwest, and published by All-Aboard Games, 1879 was originally one of three titles in the Winsome Games 2014 Essen Set. 1879 largely follows the 1830 ruleset, but since it is designed to introduce players to the 18xx system, there are only 6 major companies in the game and no private companies.
