Algae, Inc.: The Network Expansion (2024)

Overview

"The Network Expansion" for Algae, Inc. was a Gamefound-exclusive mini-expansion which introduces two exciting modules, "NETWORKS" and "CAPITAL CITIES," designed to enrich your gameplay experience and offer new strategic avenues for success.

With the Networks module, players will now randomly select a Network card and place it at the top of the game board. During the end of the month phase, players will receive victory points based on the active Network card.

In the capital cities module, players combine four reward cards with four randomly chose Capital City cards. At the end of the game, during the end of the month phase, players score VP according to the reward cards if exported to the cities on the Capital City cards. For those seeking an extra challenge, there's an option to play with a more demanding variant where the VP are rewarded immediately after exporting to the city on the Capital City card.

It was later made available by itself at Essen Spiel 2024.
