The book provides detailed orders of battle and unit organizations for Command Decision, including notes on variations in equipment and readiness of the different divisions, of all three major belligerents in the 1940 campaign.

The French: Probably the most varied army of World War II, both in terms of organizational types and spread of proficiency, from crack pre-war regular and colonial divisions to the hapless B-Reservists. The Germans: Fresh from the hard lessons of the Polish Campaign, the Germans had settled on a clear doctrine and simplified army organization.
