Overview

WunderWaffen (“wonder weapons”) is set during the last year of World War II, when the Normandy landings paved the way to the occupation of Berlin and the resulting defeat of the German army. Using simple rules the game recreates the troubled collaboration between the Russian, British, and American Allies in the final phase of the war.

The German army is near collapse, but inside its laboratories scientists and technicians are designing new and terrible weapons, the “WunderWaffen,” in the hope of turning the tide of a hopeless situation.

During the game, the Allied players must carefully balance the urgency to rapidly advance toward Berlin with the need to limit the Germans’ scientific research, while trying to help one another.

The German player will have to move forward on the Research Track, trying at the same time to put up a desperate fight against the Allies’ advance to delay the inevitable defeat for as long as possible. Germans may also win, though losing Berlin, thanks to a scoring system that rewards the results of forces on the field.
