Panzer Grenadier: Mindanao 1945 (2026)

Overview

American troops landed on Japanese-occupied Mindanao in April 1945, beginning a month-long campaign that saw heavy fighting in the eastern half of the island before organized resistance broke down. Scattered Japanese groups kept fighting until the Empire surrendered in August 1945.

Mindanao 1945 is a Campaign Study based on these intense battles to liberate the southernmost large islands of the Philippines. We tell the story of this bitter but little-known fight, and you get 11 new Panzer Grenadier scenarios so you can play along with the history.

Mindanao 1945 is an infantry fight, in very rough terrain. The Americans deployed the veteran 24th Infantry Division, by this point nearly burned out from constant campaigning, and the Alabama National Guard’s 31st “Dixie” Infantry Division. The Japanese defended Mindanao with the 100th Infantry Division, a decidedly second-line occupation unit, and the remainder of the 30th “Panther” Infantry Division, most of which had been destroyed on Leyte. You’ll need Saipan 1944, Pacific Armor, Leyte 1944, Dragon’s Teeth, and Marianas 1944 to play the scenarios.
